Market Penetration

I saw an example of Market Penetration on an add on TV. Jim Beam features an add of a young attractive women talking, and the idea being she is the perfect girlfriend. Then the add shows a bottle of Jim Beam and it says, "The Girlfriend". This is obviously market penetration because jim beam is trying to sell more whiskey to its target audience...men.

Gold Marketing

I noticed an example of seeking a target market while watching TV with the advertisements with busienss such as goldkit.com where they are trying to get scrap gold from people for a fraction of the price. All six people in the add were over at least 50. Not a single young person, as they know that only older people would have gold that they determined was really "scrap".

Social Marketing

Social marketing is definitely becoming a bigger and bigger deal. Expecially in the auto industry. MPG not only for fuel efficiency and to save on gass , but expecially to not hurt the environment is becoming a huge part of marketing. With the issues surrounding the environment, social marketing is becoming a larget and larger part of marketing that companies can no longer avoid.
